Preferred Joinery is a Liverpool-based company covering a wide range of areas across the northwest, including Liverpool, Wirral, Runcorn, Warrington, Skelmersdale, Southport and all surrounding areas. Serving both commercial and residential clients, we’re specialists in creating and fitting bespoke windows and window casements,
sash windows, staircases, timber doors, porches, gates and other bespoke architectural joinery.
Preferred Joinery was founded by Michael Riddick in 1997 after he recognised a gap in the market for a family-run joinery company that could deliver bespoke joinery with a focus on quality craftsmanship
Alex Riddick and Chris Shaw acquired Preferred Joinery, bringing fresh leadership while continuing the company’s long-standing tradition of quality and craftsmanship. Under their guidance, the company has remained committed to delivering bespoke joinery solutions, maintaining the high standards set by its founder, Michael Riddick, and continuing to grow its reputation for excellence in the Northwest.
Every item we make is completely bespoke, designed and made by hand to your exact specifications in our Liverpool workshop by our talented and experienced team. Over the years, we have built up a reputation for manufacturing high-quality bespoke joinery items using the best quality materials and first-class workmanship.
We have provided a range of joinery solutions to various homes and well-known businesses throughout Liverpool, including The Brunch and Cocktail Club on Duke Street, Einsteins Bar in Concert Square, Erics and Sgt. Peppers bars on Mathew Street, Wreckfish on Slater Street, Apart Hotels and many more period properties throughout the city helping to regenerate Liverpool’s historic buildings.
We work alongside conservation specialists to ensure any work we do on period properties or listed buildings is in keeping with the original design. We are the leading specialists in conservation joinery in the northwest. Our team manage the whole process for you, from designing to crafting, working with councils and conservationists, and then delivering and fitting your final product.

We don’t just build bespoke joinery products; we also expertly fit them in your property, providing a comprehensive service from conception to fitting.
Subject to the conditions listed below for a period of 5 years from supply, Preferred Joinery Limited undertakes to replace or repair at its sole discretion, but free of all charges, any Timber frames which become defective due to warping, cracking or discolouration.
Subject to the conditions listed below for a period of 5 years, Preferred Joinery Limited undertakes to replace or repair at its sole discretion,
but free of charge, any Double Glazed Units that fail due to defective materials, construction or workmanship. Preferred Joinery
Limited will not be liable for the exact match of glass designs or colours. Changes in manufacturing and availability of colours
cannot be controlled over such a long period. Preferred Joinery Limited, however, endeavours to match the design and colour
as near as possible to the original.
Subject to the conditions listed below for a period of 10 years Preferred Joinery Limited undertakes to replace or repair at its sole discretion but free of all charges any Window and Hardware which forms part of an installed frame that fails due to defective materials or
workmanship. (After 1 year a charge will be made for any replacement parts, but labour will be free of charge).
These guarantees do not cover misuse of products, accidental damage or malicious acts. Preferred Joinery Limited does not guarantee a design match of hardware, panels, leads or colours. (Subject to availability at the time of replacement). If problems result from a lack of
General Maintenance by the customer e.g. using inappropriate cleaning materials and oiling mechanical components:
Preferred Joinery Limited will use its sole discretion when dealing with these enquiries.
The company shall be bound by the terms of the above Guarantee provided that:
a) The customer provides the necessary documentation (Final Invoice & Guarantee Documents).
b) The customer provides Preferred Joinery Limited with full details of any alleged defect or problem in writing and within a period of no longer than one month from the defect or
problem becoming apparent to the customer.
c) The customer gives Preferred Joinery Limited a reasonable opportunity to inspect, test or otherwise ascertain the nature and extent of the alleged defect or problem.
d) The customer allows the company to rectify any defect or problem and to use its discretion in the choice of materials, the time and the method of rectification.
