Cheltenham Avenue - Customers Review: “Big thanks to everyone who was involved. A lovely door and admired by many who appreciate excellent joinery work.”
“Please tell Mike that we are over the moon with the results - the craftsmanship is absolutely outstanding on the windows themselves and the finishing off that the fitters did is incredible. They look so good now that our neighbours are all asking where we got them so I may have some referrals for you soon ha!”
“Their price was competitive and once the order was placed the windows were fitted within the estimated delivery period. The windows were for the front of a late Victorian cottage so we chose an Arts and Craft style design and Preferred were very diligent in ensuring that the glazing leading was applied in an appropriate manner. The construction quality is to a high standard and the final application of the Architectural stain finish is excellent. I will have no hesitation in going back to Preferred Joinery.”
“Felton Project Management has used Preferred Joinery for a prestigious residential project in a conservation area on the Wirral. Sash windows and bespoke doors were required. This family run business produced high quality work on time and on budget. We would not hesitate to recommend them.”
“After buying a 1850’s Victorian house within a conservation area, we were faced with the need to replace existing work out windows and meet the restrictions of the conservation order. After a little research we found the expertise in Victorian and Edwardian windows from Preferred Joinery to be excellent.
The initial visits for discussion, measuring and quotation was quick and helpful; the knowledge and guidance given helped guide us through the process and explain the fitting process to protect existing original features. Once ordered, we were kept fully informed of the likely time frame and fitting dates. The team of fitters were prompt, clean and tidy. They were able to work around problems that were unforeseen quickly to ensure that the job never fell behind.
The 3 men who came were polite and friendly, great with my 4 year old and her desire to help, as well as being good with the dogs and their curiosity. The job was finished on time with very little evidence of the building work that had happened over the 3 day fit. We had 6 large victorian sliding weighted sash windows with arches replaced for items near identical in order to meet the conservation restrictions.
These involved the removal of decoration wooden panels without damaging them nor the original plasterwork. The quality of the work is fantastic and look like they’ve always been there. The windows slide open with the easiest of effort, and hold the heat in the room much better than the old single paned windows removed.
We also had 2 sliding sash windows replaced in bathrooms for similar sliding sashes were again they were able to preserve the decorative framework. Overall we are extremely pleased with the quality, fit and finish of the windows. The professionalism of all of the staff is exemplary, whilst the knowledge, skills and expertise of the fitters is exceptional. ”
“We have used Preferred Joinery for the past ten years on a number of projects were they have supplied bespoke windows, doors and stairs. The quality of their work is always of the highest standard and we will not hesitate to use them again on future projects.”
